You have the opportunity to have one full page of notes (8.5" x 11"). Use this page to remind yourself of anything: formulas, definitions, examples, graphs, etc.
To give you a quick idea of the format and level of difficulty for exams, check out this sample midterm from a previous semester. While the topic coverage on this sample exam may be a little different than the subjects that will be on your midterm, there is enough overlap to give you a good feel of what your exam will look like. Your exam will have some multiple choice and two written answer sections - one numerical and the other conceptual. I will try to give you a choice in the written answer section - that is, you will answer something like 2 of the 3 questions, or 3 of 4. Answers to the sample midterm are posted here.
